A few years ago, a couple of friends and I decided to embark on an epic trip. We decided to take a road trip from Redding, California (about an hour north of Chico) down into the heart of Mexico. Indeed, the trip changed us all forever.
The drive was painstaking and for a bunch of travel seekers, it was tough sitting in a car for hours at a time. However, the result was well worth the wait. We didn’t stop in any of the big tourist towns in Mexico. Instead we drove to the small towns with little civilization. For a whole week we followed the Pacific Ocean camping along the beach and catching our meals or eating what we brought in our van. The Pacific Ocean was the most beautiful blue I have ever seen. We took whale watching tours, fished for great periods of time, and enjoyed how beautiful Mexico can be when escaping from the tourist trap towns.
From that trip we have a bunch of great stories and it really brought us closer together. We found whale bones in the sand that we all still have, we were searched by Mexican police on numerous occasions, we saw sharks, dolphins, and whales and we set off huge fireworks almost blowing ourselves up in the process. We had many thrills and close calls, but that is what made the trip so exhilarating and worthwhile.
When the trip was over, it was tough getting back to the real world. However, that first big trip I had has inspired me to travel and attempt to see the world. My need to see new places led to me going to college in South Dakota for two years. To this day, I have been in every state north and west of Texas. I have been back to Mexico three times, and have also traveled to Jamaica and a small island off of Mexico called Cozumel. While it is nice to be at home for periods of time I find a desire to travel around the world and encounter new things. I appreciate where I’ve been but I’m the happiest with where I’m going.

Just reading this made me feel like I was with you fishing on the beach and squirming in my seat in the car. I like you how cover so many experiences in such a short time, and it really gives an idea of the potential you see the world contains for you.
This trip sounded amazing. I'm jealous. And excited to have my own adventures :)
Nice!!
